How do I make a gel without lumps?

Short answer

Pre-disperse natural gums in glycerin before adding them to water, and sprinkle polymer powders slowly while stirring.

Explanation

For gum gels such as the firming gel, mix konjac mannan and xanthan gum into glycerin as a lump-free slurry, pour it into room-temperature water while mixing on low, and let it rest 5–10 minutes. For polymer gels such as the serum, sprinkle Aristoflex AVC or carbomer into the water while stirring for 10–15 minutes. Some polymers are heat-sensitive, so build the gel at room temperature.

What to do

  • Add peptides to a finished gel by hand.
