Buying more than one?

The Big Book of Homemade Products is the combined edition: it carries the whole soap book and the nine face formulas from the skin care book in one volume, for $59.99 instead of the $39.99 + $39.99 the two cost separately.

Only want one formula? Single chapters are $9.99 each.

Why these books are different

Every ingredient named properly

INCI names, not marketing names, with the function of each one spelled out — so you can buy the right raw material and know what it is doing in the formula.

Percentages, phases and temperatures

Each formula is a phase table with weight percentages for a stated yield, the order of addition, and the temperature every step happens at.

pH and preservation, stated

A target pH, the acid used to reach it, a named broad-spectrum preservative and a shelf life. The parts most recipe blogs leave out are the parts that decide whether a product is safe.

Troubleshooting, not just instructions

Why soap seizes, why a cream separates, why a candle tunnels, why a shampoo goes thin. Each book explains the failure as well as the method.

About the author

Nigar Rustamova

Natural formulator and teacher · 10,000+ students

Nigar Rustamova came to natural formulation out of necessity. With sensitive, allergy-prone skin, she found that commercial products — heavy with complex chemistry — often did more harm than good. What began as a personal problem turned into a passion, and then into her life's work.

She founded her own formulation school, which the books describe as having taught more than ten thousand students worldwide. The candle book adds her years of candle making, her training with a Korean master, and her courses on candles and home fragrance.

Her books are written against the grain of the recipe blog. Every formula carries INCI names, usage percentages, phase structure, temperatures, a target pH and a note explaining why each choice was made — because a reader who understands a formula can adapt it, and a reader who only has a recipe cannot.

She writes in English, from her own workshop, and tests every formula before it is published.

“Do not become dependent on recipes. Learn to understand formulas.”

Questions before you buy

What format is the book in?

A PDF, formatted as two-page spreads. It opens on a phone, tablet, laptop or e-reader, and there is no app or account to install.

What language is it written in?

English.

Can I print it?

Yes. The PDF is not locked or DRM-protected, so you can print the whole book or just the formula you are working from. Every page carries a small stamp with the email address and date of your purchase, which marks the copy as yours.

How do I get the book after paying?

Instantly. Checkout runs on Payhip, and the download link appears on the confirmation screen and arrives by email the moment payment clears. Nothing is shipped and there is nothing to wait for.

Is there a refund?

Yes, within 30 days. If the book is not what you expected, write to us through the contact page with your order email and we will refund it.

Is it suitable for a complete beginner?

Yes. Each book opens with the safety and sterility protocol and assumes no prior experience. The formulas are ordered so the simplest come first — in the skin care book the first project needs no heat and no emulsifying at all.

Can I ask the author questions?

You can ask this site's Knowledge Assistant any question and get an answer drawn from the books, with the chapter to read next. For anything it cannot answer, write to the author through the contact page.

Can I sell what I make from these formulas?

You can sell the products you make. Be aware that products made for sale need additional stability, microbiological and safety testing, and must meet the cosmetic regulations of your market. The books teach the formulation, not the regulatory process. You may not resell or redistribute the book itself.

Ask before you buy

Is this the right book for you?

Ask the Knowledge Assistant anything. It answers from the books and tells you which one covers your question.
